EDUCATION IN INDIA

Nowadays, India has one of the highest educational levels in Asia and the whole world.  This is due to their high valued appreciation for tradition, mathematics and strong English literacy system imposed on all institutions within the country. Of course, taking into account that English is in the present the second most required language for business in the job-seeking world. A high value is placed on education, as it ensures a stable future. All parents want their children to attend the best private English schools, although they may not be able to ensure this since places are limited. Therefore, we can safely assure that the admission process is highly competitive.

Most schools in India are funded and run by the government. However, the public education system faces serious challenges including: a lack of adequate infrastructure, insufficient funding, a shortage of staff and scarce facilities. This country encloses several other types of educational models such as private schools, international schools, national open schools and special-needs schools (which provide support for children born with down syndrome or any other specific needs). The Indian education system is structured as follows: pre-school, private playschools, kindergarten, primary school, middle school, secondary school, higher secondary or pre-university, undergraduate and postgraduate schools.

Today, India has a leading educational advantage due to their high rate of success in countries such as the United States of America, in which 38% of the doctors are native Indian, as well as 36% of the employees in NASA. Such a competitive advantage should not be overseen. I believe other countries should take note of their educational models and structure and analyze how theirs could be improved.
